Ice Storm
Diamond-encrusted, sparkling saturation, mirrored forest--storm of ice.
Diamond-encrusted, sparkling saturation, mirrored forest--storm of ice.
Ice-queen beauty--impenetrable, frosty-glared, hard-hearted.
Master artisan, Nature--tools of cold and water.
Quiet calm of the ice-fringed forest.
Squirrel-tails balancing on frosty limbs,
Scamper-sliding, slip-clinging, across the rime.
Crystalline woods wearing clear-crackled branches;
Like a brittle old woman: thick spectacles piercing from cropped white hair.
Trees captured in a glass-blower’s art like flies caught in lucid amber.

Crystalline woods wearing clear-crackled branches;

Trees captured in a glass-blower’s art like flies caught in lucid amber.
Frost-whiskered world.
BEAUTIFUL POEM!!!! Love it!!! I can see it all through your words! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous picture and even more gorgeous poem Gay! Mind you, I am still not going out in the cold and ice no matter how wondrous you make it sound.
ReplyDeleteWhat a spectacular vision you've created! Something only a true artist can capture and convey. Despite not being a fan of such weather, I can't help but smile and marvel with new perspective.
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone for reading my little poem. I am flattered. :)
